OUR OBJECTIVES

In a concern for access to social, cultural and artistic development for sidelined people, the aim of our association is to create cinema workshops on video tool, also involving other forms of arts such as dance, music, writing and theater, with precise topics and thematics.
LE SENS DU REGARD aims to offer to lucky few young people the possibility to discover some ways of expression which they never could access, and thereby, give them the opportunity to structure themselves through reflection, discipline and teamwork necessary to create a short film or a show, based on a chosen topic and deepth by them with a technology concerning their own time.
The purpose of these workshops is to enable them to learn the audio-visual techniques, how to make a film until final editing to create short films by their own, related to humans, to environmental and sociocultural points. Young people involved in these workshops will create a kind of inventory of their life conditions and their environment. These films, intended for interactive global trade to open a new dialogue through pictures, also aim to promote civic actions for cooperation based on culture and development.

OUR PERSPECTIVES

Our workshop’s film project is build in a logic of equal access to culture for all. It is involving youth to take action in local, national and global developments, using audiovisual tools. To contribute in training these young people to express themselves through images and to provide them a communication portal for a larger visibility, is to give them an opportunity to think about their surrounding, and understand their environment and its degradations. It is enable them to get involved in suggesting changes and solutions, it's to give a meaning to their vision on the world.

Opening them doors to creativity, it's allow them to tell us their stories with pictures, sounds and words. It's to give importance to their lifes, to their world, but it also arouse their interest and value their differences. This mode of expression is not merely an opportunity for cultural development and a way of expression for those who never have access to speech, but also serves as a veritable social therapy.

OUR AMBITIONS

Translated into various languages, these short films will become tools of communication between young people of all countries, but also screens for public awareness of the entire planet.Through films targeted themes, each youth will expose its problems and the solutions proposed to improve his daily life. The goal is to create a unifying world's synergy through international exchanges such as festivals, media, brodcasts, internet, meetings, conferences and roundtables, to open dialogues at a global level, by sharing and providing actions and innovative improvements.

Today the essential key to develop the vast creative potential in the exange of cultures, is dialogue. The interactions among peoples are increasing, so for not falling at time into violent confrontation, it is necessary to initiate dialogues at all levels to create the opportunity to transform our troubled times in a time truly human, where youth can develop positively.

The aim of these workshops is to establish two sessions a year with local organizations and provide basic equipment (minimum of 2 cameras and 2 computers) for regular monitoring of workshops over the years. This is to provide young people interested in these techniques, an acquired knowledge that can generate for the future, vocations in various professional fields.

Create an international cinematheque with films done by youth, via a portal on the Net in Network VOD and downloadable by all, would be the expected outcome. So every click of downloading will give a scholarship to all young filmmakers involved. This contribution would allow them to build savings for their studies or their future development. In this respect, the validity of this approach is reinforced by the logistical support from all sides, so either through cultural and artistic, or through social and environmental ways.
